The Book Of Mormon tickets

California, you’re in for the best kind of surprise as The Book of Mormon, one of Broadway’s wittiest, cleverest, and most comedic plays is arriving and performing in San Francisco on Wednesday 14th January 2026 at the one and only Orpheum Theatre! Take part in a musical showing that makes you laugh and love classical theatre, full of hysterical and humorous twists.

Produced from the minds of the creators of the famous comedy TV show South Park and the play Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon features two Latter-day Saints (LDS) missionaries, Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, as they try to convert local villagers in Uganda. In the same fashion to their previous creations, the musical takes the serious concept of religion and satirizes it through both script and music.

As Ben Brantley of The New York Times describes, just like South Park, it is “also blasphemous, scurrilous and more foul-mouthed than David Mamet on a blue streak. But trust me when I tell you that its heart is as pure as that of a Rodgers and Hammerstein show”.

Make the most out of your chance to be one of the lucky ones and get a seat to this astounding show, before they run out!

Orpheum Theatre

Welcome to one of the most spacious and top-tier musical theatres, Orpheum Theatre is proud to host the Book of Mormon on January at Wednesday 14th January 2026. Known for its world-class staging, interior design, and acoustics, Orpheum Theatre is already applauded by both locals and foreigners in San Francisco as its top musical venue.

The musical runs at 2 hours and 30 minutes, the Book of Mormon was a new and fresh addition to Broadway theatres when it started over 10 years ago, back in 2011 at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. The imaginative take on the Book of Mormon was a hit smash. In just the first nine months of the show, it broke the weekly box office record 22 times. By mid-2022, it had already taken home more than $1 Billion Dollars around the world. Over the past decade, the show amassed awards all over the world as well, ranging from Tony Awards, Grammy Awards, Olivier Awards, Drama Desk Awards and Helpmann awards among many other acclaims.

The Book of Mormon mixes the themes of faith, culture shock, and classic theatre into its comedic musical. Its narrative features two very different Latter-day saints (LDS) missionaries, Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, its leading characters, as they are sent on a mission for training to convert the native villagers of a small African village in Uganda to Mormonism. It turns out to be a challenge however, as they find out that the village faces more urgent affairs such as poverty, famine, an HIV epidemic, and even oppression from the local General. Though not initially successful, it is Cunningham who is able to get through to the locals with aid from the local leader’s daughter, Nabulungi, and an original approach . Though not as knowledgeable on the Mormon doctrine as his fellow Mormons, he creates relatable stories that are a blend of fact and fiction, blatantly taking stories from pop culture and fantasy works such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings that entice the villagers more to convert. The two techniques of Price and Cunningham clash, orthodox and unorthodox. Comedy ensues as they struggle try to conceive the best way to achieve the mission they set out for in the first place.
