The Book Of Mormon

Orpheum Theatre

California, you’re in for the finest kind of surprise as The Book of Mormon, one of Broadway’s wittiest, cleverest, and most humorous plays is arriving and performing in San Francisco on Sunday 18th January 2026 at the one and only Orpheum Theatre! Take part in a musical viewing that makes you fall in love with classical theatre, full of hysterical and comedic twists.

Produced from the minds of the creators of the famous comedy TV show South Park and the play Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon features two Mormon missionaries, Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, as they try to convert local villagers in Uganda. In similar fashion to their previous creations, the musical takes the serious subject of religion and satirizes it through both script and music.

As Ben Brantley of The New York Times states, just like South Park, it is “also blasphemous, scurrilous and more foul-mouthed than David Mamet on a blue streak. But trust me when I tell you that its heart is as pure as that of a Rodgers and Hammerstein show”.

Make the most out of your chance to be part of the audience and get a seat to this second to none show, before they're all gone!

The Book Of Mormon

Orpheum Theatre

Historically famous as one of the finest theatre venues in San Francisco, Orpheum Theatre has always been the top choice as a play or musical venue, especially due to its spectacular interior and exterior architecture that is both functional and visually appealing. The Book of Mormon will be available for a limited period in Orpheum Theatre in January, on Sunday 18th January 2026.

Legendary duo Matt Stone & Trey Parker, alongside Robert Lopez have once again created another comedy masterpiece but in an entirely new medium for them, this time being in in classical theatre. The Book of Mormon, centered on Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, two Mormon missionaries of the Latter-day Saints (LDS) faith, embark on a mission to baptize and convert the local population of a village in Uganda. The play, despite the risk of offending the church, delves away from a sedated approach to telling this story, as it instead uses comedy and even blasphemy to challenge and question the way religion is preached and religious stories are interpreted.

Theatre fans globally and for the past decade since its Broadway premiere in 2011 have generally welcomed The Book of Mormon positively despite its tone, as despite being somewhat against orthodox teaching, and often satirical, it also comes with a warm and serious tone beneath its language. Throughout its two acts, the musical gradually also converts itself from a play full of cursing, adult themes, and obscenity to one that shares a deep message. The New York Times agrees with this thought and stated that “The central theme of The Book of Mormon is that many religious stories are silly. Many religious doctrines are rigid and out of touch. But religion itself can do enormous good as long as people take religious teaching metaphorically and not literally.”
