A secret affair in the middle of a bustling city, Moulin Rouge! The Musical tells us a classical tale of romance in the equally romantic city of Paris, France. At the center of Montmartre, Christian, a motivated American writer who journeys in Paris, France with nothing but hope in his heart, meets the would-be love of his life and club entertainer, Satine, in the renowned nightclub Moulin Rouge. Christian and Satine then choose to keep their developing love a secret, as another wealthy benefactor sets his eyes on Satine as his prize.

Being a stage adaptation that was produced more than a decade after the late movie, Moulin Rouge! The Musical’s early challenge was to keep a relatively old plot relevant to a new audience. The best move of the crew, just like the 2001 film, was to tell the secret romantic affair with alternate and fresh renditions of this generation's pop arrangements. The obvious solution was to supersize the score and truly make the musical into a “a creative peek into the 1900s”, as the production team refer to it. The result, as seen on the actual stage, was an enormous collection of astounding medleys, mash-ups, and numbers. Though the show stays true to many of the 2001 film's beloved tracks including Lady Marmalade, the hit musical now includes pop songs from the recent decade including Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, Beyonce’s Single Ladies, and Britney Spears’ Toxic performed in unique arrangements.
