THE PLOT

An old man reads a story to an old lady about a young couple. The lady, who is suffering from Alzheimers, does not know the man but decides to listen. Allie and Noah met as teens and they instantly fell for each other. Allie comes from a wealthy family, while Noah works in a lumberyard. The disapproval from Allie’s parents led to their breakup. Ten years later they met again. Noah comes back to town as a war veteran and buys the house he has been dreaming of owning and renovates it. Meanwhile, Allie is engaged to a wealthy man but she still possesses very strong feelings for Noah. Will this love story thrive? The Notebook Musical premiered on Broadway in 2024. The musical comes twenty years after the film adaptation was released. The book is based on the 1996 novel by New York Times Best Selling authora Nicholas Sparks. The production will hit the road for the first time in 2025 extending all the way to 2026 with a total of 32 shows across key cities. THE CREATIVE TEAM & CAST

The Notebook the Musical features a fantastic storyline from bookwriter Bekah Brustetter with music and lyrics by platinum selling artist and songwriter Ingrid Michaelson. The production was led by co directors Michael Greif and Scehele Williams with choreography by Katie Spellman. The musical also brought in the skills of uber talented designers, including Tony winning costume designer Paloma Young, scenic designers David Zinn and Brett Banakis, lighting designer Brett Stanton, and sound designer Nevin Steinberg. 

The touring cast is also made up of some of the most magnificent talents in the theater world. The casting for Allie and Noah involves three timelines: Younger Allie and Noah, Middle Allie and Noh, and Older Allie and Noah. The stellar cast includes Tony winning stage actress Maryann Plunkett, Dorian Harewood, Aisha Jackson, Ryan Vazquez, Anna Zavelson, and Benji Santiago.

ACCOLADES

The Broadway production secured a number of prestigious accolades in 2024. The musical secured three Tony nominations, including the category for Best Book of a Musical. The product also scored three Drama League Award nominations and an Outer Critics Circle nomination. Tony Award winning lead actress Mary Ann Plunkett secured three nominations for her outstanding performance in this musical. Playing Older Allie, Plunket will also be in the North American tour. In 2025, The Notebook secured a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.
